5G RedCap Log Analysis Workshop

This hands-on workshop is designed to help you understand RedCap device integration in existing 5G NR networks and how to optimize performance by reducing complexity and saving power. We build on the knowledge acquired from our RedCap Technical Training course by reviewing key procedures related to RedCap devices in Release 17.

Course Outline:

  • Discuss idle mode operation including cell reselection, system information block, bandwidth part procedures, and cell-defined and non-cell-defined SSBs.
  • Learn call setup, RedCap early indication, UE capability exchange, and disabling PUCCH hopping operation.
  • Learn about connected mode procedures, including downlink and uplink operation.
  • Explore inactive mode and RRC state transitions.
  • Review mobility, including intra- and inter-frequency handover and fallback procedures.
  • Discuss power saving, including eDRX and RRM relaxation procedures.
  • Dive into a collection of log files using a friendly HTML format.
